Wendy Fisher
Wendy Fisher is a 34-year veteran of ABC News, having served most recently as Senior Vice President of Newsgathering. She started as a desk assistant and rose to oversee hundreds of reporters and producers while coordinating domestic and foreign news coverage. She managed some of the biggest stories in recent memory, including the pandemic, racial reckoning across the country, Superstorm Sandy, and numerous mass shootings. She oversaw the creation of a new visual verification team and a new unit to cover climate change. Wendy’s leadership was instrumental in transforming the ABC newsroom, creating a real partnership with digital and streaming operations across the news division. She has been a mentor and coach to scores of young journalists. Before starting her career, Wendy graduated from Amherst College, received a master’s degree in French Studies from NYU, and a master’s degree in 20th Century European History from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
