Meredith W. Gonçalves, is a photographer and media artist, based in New Jersey. She holds a MFA from Hunter College in Integrated Media Arts. Her location of interest is in the investigation of visual culture and critical theory particularly the intersections of labor, identity and gender within mass media representations. She has exhibited work throughout New York and New Jersey. Past projects have included a multimedia project with female veterans, investigating their reintegration into civilian life and looking at the social implications of rapid modernization in Accra, Ghana. Her current body of work is a photo and sound based project looking at the intersections of the maternal and labor outside of the home.
